Track and Field News 7th September 2026

WOW what an end to the 2026 Junior T&F season.

We were at Tilsley Park for the last of the Oxford Junior League meetings on Sunday in lovely bright sunshine.

The Club took its largest ever Team [91 athletes] to the meeting, taking full advantage of the weather and being at our Home Track.

Overall, our Combined Male / Female U14 to U18 team came 1st with 45 Match points beat 2nd place Radley AC by 10 match pts.

There were so many PB’s and many great first-time performances, it would not be fair to single out any individual’s as the Team results says it all.

Although I will mention the Boys U16 100m relay team, as they broke the OJL League record time of 46.40 with a time of 46.30 seconds.

Breakdown by age group’s

Boys Overall came 1st with 24 match pts

U14 Team came 1st with 124 pts beating 2nd place Radley AC by 22pts

U16 Team came 1st with 135 pts beating 2nd place Team Kennet by 47pts

U18 Team came 1st with 45 pts beating 2nd place Witney RR by 29pts

Girls Overall came 1st with 21 match pts 

U14 Team came 2nd with 127 pts just be hide 1st Place Team Kennet with 134 pts

U16 Team came 1st with 136 pts beating 2nd place Oxford City AC by 34 pts 

U18 team came 3rd with 53 pts behind Oxford City AC by 9 pts.

Quad Kids Team

Overall, our Combined Male / Female U10 /U12 team came equal 2nd with Oxford City AC with 22 match points, only 4 match pts be hide Team kennet with 26 match pts

Breakdown by age group

Girls 

U10 came 3rd with 454 pts

U12 came 4th with 710 pts

Boys 

U10 came 3rd with 578 pts

U12 came 4th with 858 pts.

This means both the Boys and Girls Teams are 2026 League champions in their individual groups, which of course means Abingdon AC are overall Team Champions of the Oxford Junior League for 2026 with our Quad Kids Team coming in a close 2nd.  

So, a BIG WELL DONE to all our Athletes from U10’ to U18 for a fantastic OJL year.

Special mention to Cate Styler and Stephaine Bewick for Team managing the result with the help of all of the Coaches in the background coaching such great performances over the year.

Plus of course our very hard-working Officials come rain or shine turn out to officiate all day long, without whom the matches could take place.
