Volunteering

Find out how you can get involved with club events as a marshal. Or how you can become an official for track and field events.

Volunteering opportunities

Contact us if you'd like to volunteer for any event the club is taking part in or if you want to find out more about volunteering.

  • Athletics officials

There would be no track and field athletics without teams of people to manage and supervise the events. Most of these people are volunteers. Many of them are already involved in athletics and often also compete themselves.

  • Track and field support

The track and field section of the club needs volunteers to run successfully. There is an extensive range of jobs that we need help with to support Abingdon AC athletes.

Coaching development and training

The club can support you to become a qualified coach or coaching assistant.

Visit the England Athletics website for details about courses for officials and coaches.

parkrun volunteers

Abingdon parkrun is a great way to get involved in the local running community. There are always Abingdon AC members taking part, and a few are parkrun run directors, so you'll be in good company.

You can try roles, including:

  • marshalling

  • timekeeping

  • barcode scanning.

Visit the Abingdon parkrun future roster page to see what roles are available.
