Young athlete membership

Young athlete membership is organised by age group starting from 7+.

Induction

To join the club, all young athletes must go through an induction process with us.

We have more regular induction sessions for our event-specific competition groups, subject to spaces being available. These groups are aimed at athletes who are at least in the under 15 age group. Once you have registered interest, as detailed below, the young athlete membership secretary will be in touch with you about arrangements for these inductions.

Current group availability

Attendance and competition

There is a minimum attendance requirement across young athlete track and field groups (except the Endurance Competition Group).

Although competing is encouraged by the club, it is not a requirement for membership of the club at U9. However, there is an expectation that athletes will compete once they reach the U11 age group. We are a competitive club, and the coaches are training athletes for competition, whether that is cross country, road racing or track and field (or all)!
