Track and Field News 31st August 2026

On a very wet day at Tilsley Park, our Senior Midlands League team produced a storming finish to the season, despite the rain [which halted the track for 20 minutes, although the hard men doing the Hammer just carried on] with an impressive win by 113 points over second place Solihull and Small Heath. Scoring 483 points on the day, our Men and Women’s throws team produce a massive 181 of those points.

The track team also put in some great performances, seeing the Women’s team win 100m,200m, 400m and 400mh in both A and B races and the Men’s team won the 100m and 200m.

So, a big well done to all our athletes on the day, Maddie Kingston, Imogen Ford, Tiffany Cox, Isabella Cuanalo, Jane Fabes, Elizabeth McNeil, Fatima Jammeh Kinteh, Jo Humphries and Samantha Egerton Taimaru Kimber-Bidlot, Chris Bromley, Steve Broadley, Mark Kingston, Luke Lorenzi, James Scott, Zack Costello, Peter Irvine and Mark Powell.

Plus, a big thank you as usual to our hard-Working Team manger Josie Brown for pulling all the athletes together and our Data Entry team Samantha Egerton with Sarah [The 1st Aid Lady], plus of course our long-suffering hard working Officials on a very wet day, without whom the match could not have been put on.
