European Masters Championships Madeira

Abingdon AC had three athletes competing at the European Masters Championships in Madeira last week (8 - 19 October).

The main stadium in Ribeira Brava is one of the most picturesque in the world.

Jeanette Ashton:

• High Jump - 7th place

• Heptathlon - 8th place

• 4x100m - silver medal

• 4x400m - Gold medal

• 4x400m mixed - Bronze medal 

Athena Chown:

• Pole vault - 6th place

Steve Pomeroy: 

• Throws pentathlon - 9th place
