AAC Track and Field News 7th June 2026

Sunday saw us host our second match of the Wessex Junior League and the largest match we have ever hosted, with 374 athletes competing on the day from as far afield as Bournemouth, Salisbury, Fleet, Slough and Reading.

Again, our Club punched above its weight, when you take into account the size of the Club’s we were up against.

We put out a team of 70 athletes on the day.

Coming  2nd overall not far behind Reading AC, although our fabulous Girls Team came 1st overall and our Boys 2nd Overall.

The Quad Kids team also put in a great performance coming in 3rd.

There we lots and lots of PB’s and many athletes competing in events they have been training for, for the first time this year.

I’m not going to name any individual as this was such a fantastic team effort, by everyone, so BIG well done to all of you.

A really BIG thank you to Mark for running the team management on the day, plus Steve Fabes and his team of Officials and Helpers, because without them, we could not have put on such a smooth-running match,  including our fabulous results team of Sam, Andrea and our new member Sara, working  their fingers to the bone inputting all of the results from 374 athletes and a constant stream of team changes for some of our visiting teams.
