Abingdon AC results round up: week ending 25/01

Great weekend across the age groups in the club competing in indoor competitions

Winning in Wantage

Our juniors took part in the 3rd round of the Oxfordshire Sportshall League at Wantage.

The U13 Boys/Girls team came a well-deserved 1st and the U11 Boys/Girls came 2nd, in a close result.

2 of our U15 girls Chelsee Moyo and Ela Dumitrache set a new club record for the paarlauf and Ela set a new Club record for the 2-lap race.

U11 Boys Obstacle Relay team of Stanley Gosling, Oisin Moran, Kelvin Moyo & David Falavina, in a time of 1:32.8. The previous time of 1:35.0 had stood since the 2018/19 season.

U13 Boys 6 lap record was broken twice. Previous time 1:31.7. It was first broken by Jack Lindsay with 1:27.5 and then by Zachary Pritchard in a super time of 1:24.9.

U15 Girls - Chelsee Moyo and Ela Dumitrache set a new record in the 8 lap paarlauf of 1.58.6. We have never had a pair run this event at Wantage so well done for being the first ever!

U15 Girls 2 lap race was also broken twice, first by Chelsee Moyo in a time of 29.7 and then again by Ela Dumitrache with 27.5.

Prolific Pentathletes

In the British Masters Indoor pentathlon championships, we had 3 of our masters athletes taking part, Jannette Ashton, Mark Kingston, and Pete Stepney all of whom came away with bronze medals in their age groups, showing how much depth of strength we have in our Masters training group.
