Track and field news 31/08/25
This was the busiest weekend of the season for track and field.
Senior Midland League
Saturday, we hosted the last round of the Senior Midland League at Tilsley Park.
We had a great turn out and the team came a much-improved second place.
Our athletes put in some great performances, with many athletes trying new disciplines at competition level for the first time.
Including:
Maddie Kingston (U17) first in the 400m hurdles
Imogen Ford (U17) second in the 400m
Tiffany Cox (senior) first in the long jump
Lucy Lindsay (masters) second in the 3,00m steeple chase
Well done ladies.
A big well done and thank you to our team of officials lead by Steve Fabes. Also to the the data entry team of Stuart, Mark, and Samantha. Without them, we could not have put on such a smooth-running event.
Wessex Junior League
On Sunday our junior team headed off to Poole in Dorset for the last round of the Wessex Junior League.
Sadly, we did not have a good turnout, which reflected in our sixth place in the competition. The athletes that did go (including a few new club members) tried their very best. Our team included a few of the U17’s who, like our hard-working team of officials, had competed the day before at the Midland League.
Well done to those who competed and our officials.
Full results on both events will be posted once they have been checked.
