Sonning Common 10K - race report

A new race, in Sonning near Reading.

The race HQ as with many smaller races was a primary school. There is always something amusing about using the tiny toilets in a primary school, were we ever that small?

Race warm up was led by a local pt, for once I joined in and despite some dubious stretches was good fun.

We were then led out to the road for the start.

The course lived up to its description of undulating, while there weren’t any serious hills it felt like very little of the race was on the flat. This made for some good fun racing.

As always Steve Badcock was keeping me honest, with us swapping over leading each other for the second half of the race.

My second fastest 10km, so pleased with the run.

Nice surprise of a Chocomel afterwards and sweets to chose from.

Other team members did very well in their categories well done to Mark, Becks, Jane, Helen and James.

Bonus was a tickle with the timing dogs who were very tired after a morning timing.
