Report from the final Sportshall of the season.

Team placing

Sunday 11 March was the final sportshall of the season at Wheatley, unfortunately it was our lowest turnout of the season with only 18 athletes, but thank you so much for those athletes that were there supporting the club. The final sportshall saw us ending in 5th place overall for the U13's above Radley and White Horse, and in 4th place for the U11's above Oxford City, Radley and White Horse. Our U15 boys also ended in 4th place.

Individual medals

Each athlete scores individual points each time they compete, and if they have competed in at least four of the sportshall's over the season are able to win medals if their scores are high enough. Two of our athletes scored individual medals, so big congratulations to Benji Davys (U15) who won the silver medal for his age group for the boys, and Oliver Thompson (U13) who also won the silver medal for his age group for the boys.

PBs

No club records went this sportshall but we did have some PB's. A speedbounce PB was set by Ilyan Doddo-Siddo, with Connor Morgan, David Naylor and Harry Winsey all equalling their PB's. 1 lap PB's set by Samantha Viner and Bethan Thompson (for the lap events, because the sportshalls are all different sizes, you have to have competed in the event the previous year in the same age category for me to be able to say that you have a PB! Incentive to keep coming back!) A 4 lap PB was set by Benji Davys. Vertical jump PB's set by Bethan Thompson, Abbie Barrett and Georgina Winsey. A standing triple jump PB for Oliver Thompson. Amy Frost equalled her chest push PB. Shot putt PB's were set by Celena Appleby-Prince and Samuel Naylor (special mention to Samuel who has at every sportshall improved his shot putt PB -by 1.32m over the season- well done Sam, pretty impressive).

Thank yous

Thank you to all the athletes who participated and to their parents for bringing them and helping with speedbounce counting. Particular mention to Graham Winsey who co-ordinated the speedbounce for me. Hope to see you all next season (apart from Benji and Daniel who will be too old Disappointed ) and in the meantime don't forget the outdoor season is about to get under way. Look out for the emails from Phil Kelly (Junior league team manager) and hope to see you all there or at an open event!

Fiona (sportshall team manager).
