Attendance and team participation requirements

This page sets out the minimum requirements that young athletes agree to when they accept the terms and conditions of membership.

Attendance at training sessions

There is a minimum attendance requirement across young athlete track and field groups to retain your child’s place in the following training groups.

  • U9 and U11 - Fundamentals

  • U13 - Transition

  • U15 - Speed Development Squad (SDS)

  • U17 - Senior track and field.

As a club, we train 48 weeks a year, twice weekly. Therefore, as a guideline, your child must attend 36 sessions per year to retain their place in their allotted training group.

Team participation

Young athletes must attend a minimum number of team competitions yearly to retain their place in a training group.

  • U9 Fundamentals - No requirement

  • U11 Fundamentals - 2 competitions

  • U13 Transition - 3 competitions

  • U15 SDS - 4 competitions

  • U17 upwards senior track and field - 6 competitions.

Exceptions

The minimum attendance and participation requirements do not apply to the Endurance Competition Group.

Others who may be exempt from the attendance and participation requirements are:

  • athletes with injuries

  • athletes with ongoing health issues

  • athletes taking exams.

The parent or athlete must notify the coach coordinator as soon as possible.

Please contact the coach coordinator if you wish to discuss any of the above before renewing your club membership.
